MAKES THE DIFFERENCE FOR TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURIES
BRAIKER is a novel lab-on-a- chip based on nanotechnologies, developed at NEST Laboratory of “Scuola Normale Superiore” (SNS) University of Pisa and National Research Council (CNR).
This miniaturized LoC can help the diagnosis and prognosis of traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) by performing decentered blood analysis. The detection of TBI-biomarkers in blood at low concentrations can be correlated with the brain damage. BRAIKER is a portable and easy to use point-of-care test for this purpose. It can be helpful in emergencies and third-world countries also, where there is a lack of access to computerized tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
